Bilal Irshed was born in the village of Daboryya in Northern Israel in 1981. He started playing the Oud at the age of 13 and after completing high school, he moved to Jerusalem to study music at the Academy of Music and Dance.

In 2002 Irshed joined the Arabic Music Orchestra of Nazareth, and toured through neighboring countries and Europe. One of the places he performed three times was at the National Theater in Paris. After graduating from university he worked as an Oud teacher as well as teaching eastern music theory. In addition, he worked as a music editor in a radio station in Jerusalem.

In 2006 he moved to the island of Zanzibar, where he worked at the Zanzibari Music Academy as a teacher and artistic director. During the almost two years he spent there, he also toured as a performer in the East African region.

Bilal Irshed has recently moved to Copenhagen and he is now a member of the Middle East Peace Orchestra which amongst other places has performed at the Danish Royal Theatre, in addition Bilal is performing as a Soloist.
